Strikers Weekly - Week of May 7, 2018

Welcome to May: the last full month of the academic year.  Sorry for the cliches, but this is the home stretch and the light is clearly visible at the end of the tunnel.  The sight of the finish line is a time to push even harder.  Keep working hard Strikers!

The Spring Production, Midsummer Night's Dream, has begun its six day run.  Wednesday to Friday last week followed by Wednesday May 9 to Friday May 11th.  Find the time to come out and support our amazing students and the entertaining evening of fun.  Thanks Sarah for the wonderful photos.

Spring Reign 2018

Living up to its name (kind of), Spring Reign was a wet weekend of Ultimate.  Though the weather was cold and damp, the play was hard fought and skilled.  After going 4-0 in pool plays, our Ultimate Team had a challenging Sunday before making the drive home.

Track and Field District Qualifications

Members of our Track and Field team were at Minoru this week attempting to qualify for the RIchmond District Track and Field Meet.

Adventures in Victoria

Twenty Nine grade 10 students had a great time learning about the history of British Columbia and the significance of primary resources while exploring the Parliament, the Royal BC Museum and attending a learning lab in Victoria, BC.  Thanks to Mme Rost Komiya for the photos.

A Musical Weekend In Whistler

Mr. Carter and his Music Program had the opportunity to perform and learn at the recent Whistler Cantando Festival.  While the music was amazing, the opportunity to enjoy Whistler and the time with other musicians was also very special.  Thanks to Anna for the photos.

Young Entrepreneurs Need Your Feedback

Some of our students are developing Entrepreneurial skills through their involvement in the YELL (Young Entrepreneurs Leadership Launchpad). YELL's motto is "empowering the next generation of Canadian problem solvers."

Our students have requested some help:

Hi everyone, please take our 2 minute anonymous survey as a part of our YELL (Young Entrepreneur Leadership Launchpad) assignment. Our survey is part of a business venture where we need to have evidence to support our ideas about an automatic pill dispenser.
