Strikers Weekly - Week of October 28, 2018

October is coming to an end.  Two months have gone quickly. Just a reminder to have a safe and fun Halloween.

Perfect timing for Halloween... students were treated to a display of theatrical make up.  The realism was a bit frightening.

STUCO Spirit Week

Just a reminder that next week is STUCO Spirit Week.  Just a quick note... Friday (though listed as a Spirit Day) is actually a Professional Development Day.  Our staff will come in socks and sandals.

Wait No More... Clothing Sales Move to the Online Store

Monday will be the last day for in school purchases of McRoberts Gear at the online store.  If you don't buy in person, you can buy online (using School Cash Online) until Friday.

Contemporary Cave Art

Ms. Miller's Drawing and Painting Classes created some "contemporary cave art."  A mixture of techniques, the students mixed old and new to create a very unique group piece.

Calorie Free Treats

Though we saw these in progress, Ms. Miller's ceramic's class completed their donut sculptures.  Hungry?

Grade 8 Rep Elections

Ever thought about running for student governence?  A number of our grade eights braved the microphone and spoke passionately to their peers to explain why they would be the right choice for Grade 8 Representative.  Congratulations to all of the candidates.

Building Earthquake Safe Structures

Combining engineering, technology with a bit of physics and geography thrown in, Mr. Looney's class designed and cut (using the laser cutter)to make the most stable and strong structures with the materials provided.  Each structure will be tested with a simulated earthquake to test how well they would perform.

Fall Season of Play is well underway

The Fall Season of play has begun.  Hopefully you will find some time to come out and support the McRoberts student athletes.
