Strikers Weekly - Week of May 31, 2020

Sorry... again, another rather abbreviated Weekly.

Just a reminder that parents who have requested to have your son/daughter attend in June but have not yet booked times for your sons/daughters, we still have a lot of space for students next week.  We fully understand that the request to send students came out before secondary schools released their plans for these days.  Based on the model that is being run in all secondary schools, we do understand if some families have changed their minds.  If you will not be sending your teen to school, there is no need to contact us.  We will keep your names on the list in case you change your minds.  If you did not sign up but wish to have your son/daughter attend next week or the weeks that follow, feel free to send us an email at

2020 -21 School Calendar

Though we find at this time it will be very difficult to predict what September might look like here at McRoberts, we are making preparations for a normal start to our next academic year.  We do recognize that factors outside of our control may require the need for some changes.

Below please find some important dates for our 2020-21 School Year:

Awards Night

Due to the current situation regarding social gathering, we will not be having our traditional Awards Ceremonies here at McRoberts.

Though we will not host the ceremonies, our staff (where possible) are meeting to discuss candidates for this year's recipients.  Though we will not have a ceremony, for this year, Grade 12 recipients of Major Awards will have these awards "virtually" presented via our upcoming Valedictory Cermony.  These major awards (which are traditionally presented to grade 12 students) will be presented during the Honours to the Class section with the presentation of scholarships.  The remaining awards (Subject Awards, Service Awards, Athletic Awards, etc.) will be provided to students at a date later in June (we are still trying to identify the details of how we can get the awards into the hands of these students).

Thank you for your understanding.
