The Return of Athletics

Though we are sure we are all excited by the return to athletics, we do understand that some may be saddened by the restrictions in Richmond Schools for spectators.  As mentioned in a recent email, due to COVID restrictions being followed in this District, spectators at school indoor events will only include current McRoberts studetnts or staff.  While we know this will dissappointing for parents and others, this is intended to keep both the event participants along with the spectators safe.

This fall at indoor school events in the Richmond School District such as sports games and tournaments, plays, concerts, assemblies, and/or other performances, only students or staff currently enrolled at our school may attend. Attendance will be further limited to half the capacity of the venue and student spectators are required to wear a face mask. For the safety of all, and until further notice, no audience/spectators external to the school may attend indoor school events. Audience/spectators external to the school includes parents, family, friends, recent graduates, alumni, and students from other schools who are not participating in the match or event.

Outdoor school sports or events may have audience/spectators that are external to the school. All spectators are encouraged to wear masks and comply with other health guidelines such as respecting personal space and respiratory etiquette.

Terry Fox Run

A bit of rain did not dampen the spirits of the students who participated in the annual Terry Fox Run/Walk this week.  Organized by Mr. Ng and his PE Leadership Students (even though PE Leadership is not until next semester), all students in our school got to brave a bit of inclimate weather in support of cancer research.

An Recognition of the National Day of Truth and Reconciliation

Students and Staff wore a orange on the day before the National Day of Truth and Reconciliation.  Whether it was a orange shirt or an orange heart, hopefully all will take a bit of time to remember and reflect as a nation continues to heal and move forward.

Making Sense of Things in Genocide Studies

Students using critical thinking, context clues and deductive reasoning to guess the stages of Genocide.

Grade 8 Day

A fun day and hopefully a day to connect.  Led by our school's mentors along with some of our teachers of grade 8's, Grade 8 Day was a day outside of classrooms with some fun mini- challenges to create both opportunities for team building as well as allowing our newest students to get to know the school.  We hope it was as much fun for our newest students as it was for our mentors.
