Recently, our very own Ms. Angie Miller was recognized by the BC Art Teachers Association as the "Outstanding Teacher" Award for 2021.  Though we are not surprised, we are very excited that more people now know of the amazingly talented educator we are fortunate to have working with our students.  The Award was presented virtually at the Provincial Art Teaching Conference.  Congratulations Ms. Miller.  (Thanks Ms. Matheos for the photo).

Paper Textile Designs... In Minutes

To come up with a design and make it come to life... all in less than one hour?  Students in Ms. Tsang's Textiles Class did just that.  Here is what they came up with (the paper dresses in the front.  In behind these are amazing pieces of art from the Drawing and Painting Class).


Element Com

Who has the most interesting and most important element?  Students in Ms. Debou's class showcased their element to the class at the "Element Com."  Sharing both information about the element and the role it plays in our world, students also had the opportunity to learn from the others in the class about their element. (Thanks Ms. Debou for the photos).

Come join alum Tara on Tuesday, November 2nd for an info session presented by the Campus Ambassador Program. The presentation will cover academic opportunities and social resources available at Sauder, and what your first year and student life could look like. The presentation will be followed by a Q&A session where you will have the opportunity to hear the answers from current Sauder students about the student experience and more.

Convergence: October Passion Speaker


Once a month (or so), we are fortunate that a group called Convergence (organized by a McRoberts Grad), organizes a speaker to share perspectives for various career opportunities.  The presentations are currently online.  

This month's presentation will be by Tarek, a building engineer.

Tarek Ghazzaoui is a building engineer with 10+ years experience in Design Technology, with a keen interest in business management, change management and innovation. As a results-driven and detail-oriented professional, he is passionate about helping architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) firms manage change and leverage the use of technology and computational design. His management experience coupled with his technical expertise helped improve organizational cultures, tackle complex workflows and overcome challenging designs.

Tarek had the privilege of working with and managing interdisciplinary BIM teams of up to 70+ members on major construction projects ranging from $200M to $2.2B, including airports, hospitals, sports complexes, factories as well as residential, commercial and mixed-use projects in Canada and the US.

Tarek holds certificates in project management, marketing and product development, and is a professional member of OIQ, ASHRAE and PMI. He is also fluent in English, French and Arabic, intermediate in Russian and beginner in Mandarin Chinese.

The Richmond Christmas Fund is a non-religious, non-discriminatory program operated by Richmond Cares, Richmond Gives.
