Reviewing Survey Data

Recently, as part of the Re-Imagining Secondary Schools initiative, all of our students were surveyed to get a sense as to how they were doing academically, socially, and emotionally.  Questions were asked about the pace and structure of the learning environment during this pandemic year, whether students were able to "connect" with others and the school during this time, and many other important questions about our students current context.  Our RIS group met, reveiwed the data collected, and began to make meaning of the student responses.  The committee decided that the topic of connectivedness was one of the most interesting parts of the data reviewed.  The committee also recognized that far more questions are required to better understand how are students are doing.  As the committee has students representing various grades and programs within our school, the committee is crafting some open-ended follow up questions.  Once we decide on the questions, the teachers will use their students as a mini focus groups to gather some qualitative data from the students.
