One initiative that came out of the student discussion is the need to make reflection on the Core Competencies more natural and meaningful for students.  As a result, our Grade 8 Mentors ran a Core Competencies reflection discussion in their grade 8 mentor groups followed by a written reflection “exit slip.”  Reflections included ways in which students developed their communication skills in These reflections will be used in future LET days where grade 8 will develop personal goals around Core Competencies.
