SEL Survey January 2024
After reviewing and reflecting on our Student Learning Survey, we decided to try to elicit quantitative data on measurable aspects of belonging at the school level. Rather than simply asking, “Do you contribute to the community,” or “Do you feel you belong,” we composed a survey with more specific aspects of ‘contribution’ and ‘belonging.’ We looked at contribution through clubs, volunteering, and participation in school events. We looked at connection through feeling connected to adults and other students in the building. From this data, we determined that while connection and contribution are high, there is still room for growth. We are developing action plans for increasing both connectedness and contribution to the school community.
