McRoberts Teacher Book Club

Once a month, McRoberts teachers are invited to a ‘Lunch and Learn’ book study group, where we are diving into meaningful discussions about strengthening student-teacher connections and fostering a sense of belonging in the school community. Through in-depth conversations, teachers are reflecting on the importance of relationship-based approaches, exploring strategies to create emotionally safe spaces, and sharing experiences on how to support students in feeling seen, heard, and valued. Our readings’ insights are inspiring our McRoberts educators to shift from managing behavior to understanding and addressing the underlying emotional needs of students. As they collaborate, teachers are developing practical ways to build trust, nurture resilience, and create a more connected and compassionate learning environment for our students.
